Take One Atlantic Inc. commenced operations in 1988 as a proprietorship and incorporated in 1995. Initially, the business provided professional services to the film industry, primarily the services of Forbes MacDonald Jr. as a camera assistant. With the huge growth in the film industry in Nova Scotia and the increasing demand of technical equipment, the business expanded into the manufacturing and rental of motion picture support vehicles.
Take One Atlantic Inc. purchases trucks and trailers, then builds the production unit according to the industry standards for such items as camera trucks, grip trucks, and hair/make-up trailers. We have been renting professional motion picture support vehicles for twenty years. Our specialty focuses on custom designed support vehicles. We were the first company in Atlantic Canada to offer a full array of specialized vehicles locally. We also offer our services in Montreal and Toronto.
We are continuously improving and adding to our fleet in order to accommodate the high demand of professional support vehicles. Each vehicle is designed and manufactured on site. Take One Atlantic Inc. operates from a facility in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The large two story building on the site offers us the ability to construct and repair rental equipment.
Mr. MacDonald also continues to provide technical services to the film industry, now as a camera operator. As reflected in past employment, Mr. MacDonald is an invaluable asset to the Atlantic film industry and will continue that reputation as a camera operator.
